Welcome to Jean's Journeys

Since May 1997, I have served full-time with Mercy Ships, spending most of my time on the Anastasis. Look around and you'll see current and older newsletters, background, and photos. In September of 2004 I joined the Africa Mercy crew on a long-term basis. In June 2006 I returned to Africa to begin our Ghana field service on the Anastasis instead of the Africa Mercy.

On March 29, 2007 the Africa Mercy successfully completed sea trials. This is fantastic news we have longed to hear! She is expected to travel to Monrovia, Liberia in May 2007.

Last year I added an Africa Mercy feature. If you follow the Africa Mercy Image link to the left, you'll arrive at a photo of the ship. Click on an area of the ship and a link will take you to specific photos of that area or outside. Enjoy!

Upcoming Stops on the Journey: 2007

	April 4-27: I travel to Blyth, England to move hospital equipment into place on the Africa Mercy
	May 2: Final day of surgery on the Anastasis
	May 3: Screening in Monrovia, Liberia
	May 10: Anastasis Ward closes
	mid-May to mid-June: Transition to Africa Mercy
	June 25: Anticipated start of surgery on Africa Mercy

	Wisdom as we work out the logistics of transferring from the Anastasis to the Africa Mercy

Thanksgiving

	The Africa Mercy successfully completed sea trials March 29, 2007!
	Profitable start to our field service in Liberia. Many of our patients during the first seven weeks of surgery have come from remote areas of Liberia.
